The Pride of Life

The Pride of Life

“ A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.” Proverbs 29:23

One of Satan’s greatest weapons again mankind is pride!

This tool has brought many to their destruction, has brought many to the loss of their souls.

Jesus gave us a commandment concerning Satan’s evil devices for it is written, “Love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2:15-16

The Bible refers to Satan as the deceiver of the world and he only has three ways in which he deceives us; today we will be focusing on the pride of life.

Many of us look to have a life they can be proud of; unfortunately most of us have based that life upon the principles and deception of Satan’s pride.

From the time we were born Satan has convinced the people of this world that his way of life sets the standard of what a good life should be, a life full of pride, vanity, self indulgence, greed, without real love, having no evidence that God exist in our lives.

The Bible says that Satan is the god of this world and has deceived most of this world into believing that life is about Pride, about being the boss, gaining respect, seeking approval, fitting in, or out doing one another, keeping people from knowing the truth of God’s Word for it is written, “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4

We were not born into this world to be full of pride, to compete with each other, to see who will be greater for it is written, “ but who so ever will be great among you shall be your minister (servant): and who so ever of you will be chief (The Boss), shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man (Jesus) came not to be ministered (served) unto, but to minister (serve), and to give his life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:43-45

We are not here to prove ourselves unto no man, only before God are we to be approved for it is written, “ Study to show yourselves approve unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. 2nd Timothy 2:15

God’s intent for our lives is the opposite of what most of the world has come to believe is a good life. We were all programmed from the time of our births to follow after prideful things, to be the best in an evil world’s system ran by Satan himself!

The best in worldly education, which leads not to salvation, but to the praise of men and earthly riches, to be the best at earning wealth which leads to the respect of people and not to the obedience of God, to be the best in physical achievements, which leads to vanity and the pride of life, not to any gain of the spirit.

King Solomon was one of the wises men that ever lived once said that worldly achievements, earthly praise of men, and the pride of life was a waste of time for it is written, “ it is all vanity and vexation of spirit.”

King Nebuchadnezzar was reduced to a mad man and a beast because of his pride for it is written, “ The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles feathers, and his nails like birds claws.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honored him that lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, what does thou?” Daniel 4:33-35

These are only a few examples of men who learned that the pride of life does not profit those who follow after it.

Satan told Jesus to prove that he was the Son of God by jumping from the top of a temple (church) in Jerusalem and having his angels keep him from dying for it is written, “ if you are the Son of God, cast yourself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning you: and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you might dash your foot against a stone.” Matthew 4:6

Jesus did not feel pressured to prove himself to anyone. He did not fall into Satan’s trap, the pride of life for it is written, “ it is written again, you shall not tempt the Lord your God.” Matthew 4:7

In other words just because I can does not mean that I should test God to whether He is with me or not, for it is written, “ everything is lawful unto me but everything is not expedient.” 1st Corinthians 10:23

The religious leaders were full of pride and would not accept Jesus. Instead they asked Jesus to prove that he was sent from God by way of giving them a sign from heaven.

Jesus could have easily shown them a sign from heaven but instead he showed you and I how we are not to give into the ways of Satan by feeling as thou we need to prove ourselves in an evil world that does not want to obey God for it is written, “ but he answered and said unto them, an evil and adulterous generation seeking after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.” Matthew 12:39

The high priest of the religious organization of the Pharisees was excited to see Jesus thinking that Jesus would entertain him by showing him a miracle in order to prove himself. Luke 23:8

Jesus could have easily shown him a miracle and possibly prevented his own crucifixion but if the day should ever come that the Son of God needs to prove himself to the devil
That would be one terrible day for us all.

Thank God that Jesus was not full of pride.

When the soldiers came for Jesus peter began to fight with a sword but Jesus was not full of pride and told peter that it was not his way of doing things and said to peter, “ put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Do you think that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?” Matthew 26:52-54

Good people! Jesus has shown us how to overcome the pride of life.

Don’t fall for this world’s way of thinking; examine yourselves daily looking to be found free of pride.

Satan desires to kill us all! And once you are in bed with him through the pride of life, he is well on his way to being successful.

Satan uses the trick of pride to perfection:

He wants you to show the world that you are tougher, that you are prettier, that you are fancier, that you are smarter than everyone, that you are sexier or hotter, that you are wealthier than others, that you are better than others, that you speak better than others, that you sing better than others, that you are stronger than others, that you are to desire to be elevated above others or to be a part of an elite worldly culture.

Don’t continue to fall for the pride of life it is one of Satan’s strongest tricks.

Satan wants to tell you what you should have and where you should be in life, he wants to have you feel shame if you don’t have some worldly accomplishment at a certain age, he wants you to react to his trick; The Pride of Life.

Some have become his slave, chasing after such worldly titles; some have committed suicide as a result of not being able to accomplish such worldly titles, some have committed murder as a result of seeking out the pride of life, others have been put in jail because of their pride, stop this vicious cycle!

Pride will get you nowhere with God for it is written, “ The Lord will destroy the house of the proud.” Proverbs 15:25

And again, “ Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5

And last but not least, “ For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low.” Isaiah 2:12

Wonderful people of the earth, turn from all signs of worldly pride in your life, remove all vanity and do away with your ego, for the day of God in upon us and the return of Jesus is coming.

Don’t be found living your life under the power of Satan’s pride of life!

Until next time I love you,

The Lust of the Eyes

The lust of the Eyes

Some say that the eyes are the windows to the soul if this is true then many of the windows are broken and the souls of many are doomed, for it is written, “Love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2:15-16

There are three things listed in 1st John chapter 2:16 and these three things are the only ways that Satan can manipulates us; today we will be focusing on the lust of the eyes.

We will begin our look at the lust of the eyes from the book of Matthew chapter 4 where we find Jesus being tempted by Satan in the wilderness for it is written, “ the devil takes Jesus up into an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and said unto him, all these things will I give thee, if you will fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4:8-9

Satan tried to use the lust of the eyes on our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ; he offered Jesus the cities of the world and all the riches that came with them if he would worship him.

Satan uses worldly images to draw us away from following God, to get us to worship him through worshipping things. The images are personally hand picked by Satan from the time we are born, projecting them before us until we have give into them.

He has subliminally programmed us to trust in our eyes, through television, magazines, news papers, billboards, and advertisements, we have come to believe that whatever he shows us is successful is the meaning of success, whatever he presents as being attractive is the meaning of beauty, whatever he displays as living is the meaning of a good life, whatever he deems to be just is the meaning of a law abiding citizen.

Satan is the god of this world and therefore the things of this world are at his disposal to display them whatever way he wishes that you may be lured by the lust of your eyes for it is written, “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4

But Jesus was not fooled by the lust of the eyes and neither should we be fooled for it is written, “ Then Jesus said unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve.” Matthew 4:10

We are to worship God and ought not to be drawn away after worldly things presented to us through the lust of the eyes.

The eyes of a person can easily mislead them for it is written, “ For we are to walk by faith and not by sight.” 2nd Corinthians 5:7

Satan is the master of advertisement, the advertisers of McDonald can get you to think that a Big Mac is the best hamburger on earth, the advertisers of Mercedes can get you to believe that their car is able to drive on water, The advertisers of Vodka can get you to believe that life is wonderful for an alcoholic, but Satan can put them all to shame because he is able to get people to disobey God for what they have seen with their eyes.

God commanded that Adam and Eve should not eat of a certain tree of the Garden of Eden but Satan took that tree and made it look so desirable to the eyes that Eve could not resist for it is written, “ and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” Genesis 3:6

Through the lust of the eyes the master deceiver had set the trap for Adam and Eve, now let us hear the words of the master advertiser at work, “ and the serpent (Satan) said unto the woman, you shall not surely die: For God knows that in the day that you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5

Notice how Satan always contradicts the word of God for it is written, “ Labor not to be rich: cease from your own wisdom.” Proverb 23:4

And again, “ for it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:25

Yet every image we see tells us the opposite, according to the lust of the eyes being rich is the way to go, according to this evil world the rich life is better than living your life for God.

Don’t be a fooled by the lust of the eyes for it is the trick of Satan and the way to disobedience!

The Bible says, “ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the Faith (of God) and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1st Timothy 6:10

Satan shows us all that this world has to offer, he has showcased the finest of all that he has, the best of the fortune and fame, the best physiques and shapely bodies, the best clothing and foot wear, the best of lands and houses, cars and planes, trips and vacation spots, and the most beautiful faces in the world, that you may lust after them to such a degree that you forget the words of God for it is written, “ Set your affection on things in heaven and not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2

God commanded us not to covet after worldly things in the book of Exodus chapter 20 verses 17. But Satan wants us to ignore God, he wants us to follow after our eyes, desiring to have things that lead not to any eternal salvation for it is written, “ For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” 1st Timothy 6: 7

Don’t let your eyes or the eyes of anyone else cause you to lose you soul, for there are many false preachers out there teaching you to fall into the trap of the lust of the eyes for it is written, “ men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.” 1st Timothy 6:5

Men and women that are not married are not to look upon one another in a lustful manner for it is written, “ But I say to you, who so ever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:28

Ladies, you were not exclude from this passage of scripture, so the next to Satan shows a commercial full of shirtless men or sexiest man magazine make sure you examine yourself with God to assure that your soul is not in jeopardy due to the lust of the eyes.

Married people do not be fooled saying to yourselves, “ I am married but not dead” thinking that it is ok to look upon the opposite sex in a lustful manner, believing that as long as you don’t touch them that it is ok with God for it is written, “ Thou shall not desire (covet) thy neighbor’s wife.” Deuteronomy 5:21

And again, “ Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22

Satan has caused many people to stray from God with the lust of the eyes, Lot’s wife eyes mislead her to being turn into a pillar of salt, King Solomon’s eyes mislead him to marry many different women that worshipped the Devil, King David’s eyes mislead him into the arms of a married woman, Judas Iscariot’s eyes mislead him to 30 pieces of silver and the betrayal of Jesus Christ.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye were single, your whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other, you cannot serve God and mammon (the lust of the eyes). Matthew 6:22-24

Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ! Always having your eyes focused on his return, not being distracted by the gilt and glamour of this evil world but with great discipline holding fast to the Word of God.

The Bible says that a true servant of God does not even talk about wanting a bunch of worldly things, they do not think on one another as sexual objects for it is written, “ Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

Brothers and Sisters, don’t let Satan deceive you with the lust of the eyes for there is nothing down here on this earth worth losing your soul over, I don’t care how good he might make it look for it is written, “ What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his own soul or what shall a man exchange for his soul.” Mark 8:37

Keep you eyes on the prize, which is eternal life through Christ Jesus.

Until next time I love you

The lust of the Flesh

The lust of the Flesh

Love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1st John 2: 15-16

Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2nd Corinthians 7:1

There have been times in all of our lives where we have found ourselves involved in things we know were not right.

There were times when you knew and have known that fornication was wrong and not of God, that adultery was not of God, over eating was not of God, drinking alcohol or getting drunk was not of God, yet their are those of us who have known the word of God that found themselves saying, “ how did I get here and why am I in this mess?

Paul said it best, “ For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Romans 7: 18-19

There are three things listed in 1st John chapter 2 verse 16 and these three things are the only three ways that Satan can manipulates us.

Today we will be focusing on the lust of the flesh, Satan is the god of this world for it is written, “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4

If Satan is the god of this world then the ways of this world are evil.

In a world ran by Satan it is obvious that he has been programming all of us through television, radio, religion, government, and even the ignorance of our own parents, from the time we were born.

So what is the answer to defeating the lust of the flesh?

The answer is the Word of God, for it is written; “ man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

And the apostle Paul says that when we find ourselves doing something that we know we should not have been doing that there is an reasonable explanation, for it is written, “ I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord (I will have the victory over my flesh).” Romans 7:21-25

That is right! Jesus will deliver you from the lust of the flesh for it is written, “ with man it is impossible but with God all things are possible to them that believe.” Matthew 19:26

Jesus Christ, will write His laws in our minds and in our hearts so that any time our flesh is looking to get into something that is not of God we will remember that it is wicked for it is written, “ This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 10:16-17

But there is something we must do also, we must turn from that thing which our bodies desire we must flee from sin and repent for it is written, “ Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2nd Timothy 2:22

We must cast our fleshly problems upon Jesus and learn of His ways, meditate on the Word of God day and night then will we have success over our flesh for it is written, “ Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

Our bodies demand a lot of attention they want to be fed, watered, touched, exercised, etc but the Bible says, bodily exercise profits nothing but that we are to exercise our minds, transform our minds from the ways of this wicked world’s thinking to knowing the perfect and acceptable will of God for our lives. Romans 12:2

Those of you that are homosexual, drug attics, nymphomaniacs, over eaters, workout junkies, etc whatever it is that has control of you through your flesh get away from it!

The word of God says that we are to give ourselves over to fasting and prayer, that we are not slaves to live after the flesh. 1st Corinthians 7:5

The Bible says that we do not sin until we are drawn away after our own lust and enticed.” James 1:14

Therefore let us be conscious of our flesh bodies understanding that Satan has helped us develop these fleshly needs through many years of experiences and programming.

Knowing this, we can learn to understand that it will take a strong effort and time for Jesus to deprogram us from our flesh and teach us to walk after our spirit man for it is written, “ Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (body). For the flesh (body) lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh (body): and these are contrary one to another: so that you cannot do the things that you would.” Galatians 5:16-17

Satan would have us to believe that it is normal for us to give into our fleshly desires, but God Almighty, the God of the universe says, “ it is not normal to give into our fleshly desires.”

Which of the two will you believe?

Esau sold his birth right for some food due to the weakness of his flesh.

David had a man killed over trying to cover up his need for sex with another man’s wife due to the weakness of his flesh.

Samson lost his favor and power with God over alcohol and sex due to the weakness of his flesh.

Let us learn from those that came before us, let us not repeat the mistakes of our predecessors.

God has given us the victory over our bodies; Jesus showed us the way to defeat the lust of the flesh through His Word.

Brothers and Sisters deny your flesh, learn to fast and pray that you may be found clean upon the return of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.

Until next time, I love you

Mind, Body, and Soul

Mind, Body, & Soul

Many of us have heard this phrase but what does it truly mean?

Today we will take a closer look at the Mind, Body, & Soul.

The mind is the intellect of a person; it does the reasoning for the other two components.

The mind can be a very powerful thing once the mind is convinced of something the body and soul will follow soot.

This can be very dangerous in a world where Satan, himself spends all of his time deceiving the minds of many.

Satan has only three tricks in which to accomplish his plan, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. 1st John 2:16

He is a master in all three and uses them very well.

Throughout this study we will witness examples of these three tricks of Satan.

The body is the outer shell of a person; it was never designed to last forever, only to carry us about in a world that is said to one-day pass away.

The body can be a major liability to us all, because of it’s desire to battle with your soul and your mind.

This too is dangerous due to the weaknesses of the flesh, it has become one of Satan’s major targets for it is written, “ the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

Lastly there is the soul of a person the soul is who and what we really are.

We are all souls, or spirits if you will, housed in a body only to be tested for the final day of God’s judgment.

The soul of us all only has one desire, which is to continue to exist, to receive eternal life or to be eliminated by God the Father of us all.

The soul or spirit can be influenced by only two other things, the dark spirit of Satan or The Holy Spirit of God for it is written, “ who is on the Lord’s side, let him come unto me?” Exodus 32:26

And again, “ but they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah said, “ Lord, who has believed our report?” Romans 10:16

Now that we have defined what the mind, body and soul are let us study each of them a little closer.

The study of the mind, the mind is the key to surviving in this world.

Satan’s desire is to get you to give up or give into the will of the dark spirit. Every chance he gets is used to convince us to go against God’s ways or commandments.

Example: in the book of Genesis chapter 3 Satan convinced a woman named Eve to disobey God’s orders by eating from a forbidden tree let us listen to the subtlety of Satan as he says to Eve, “ you shall not surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat of the tree, your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5

Satan attacks our minds in the same way, the bible says, “no fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionist, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”1st Corinthians 6:9-10

But Satan has convinced the minds of the entire world that having sex out of wedlock is ok, worshipping people or material things is ok, having sex with someone else’s husband or wife is ok, having sex or marrying the same sex, male with male or female with female is ok, using drugs or tobacco is ok, taking things from others without permission is ok, desiring other peoples things is ok, drinking alcohol is ok, to beat or hurt others is ok, to gain wealth on the ignorance of others is ok, causing many of us to lose our souls.

The word of God is the only way we will be able to know the truth from a lie. The only way to keep our minds from being deceived by Satan for it is written, “ be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may know what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

If the mind is not transformed by the Word of God learning not to accept the ways of Satan, then there is no way to stop the body and the soul from following the mind into much trouble and eternal destruction.

It is written, “ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5

If we have the mind of Christ Jesus then we have the mind of the Holy Spirit and will not obey the dark spirit of Satan.

Now the study of the body, the body was formed from the dirt of the earth, which is why everyday we live the body begins to age and will eventually return to the dust from which it came for it is written, “ For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14 and again, “ God takes away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.” Psalm 104:29

Mastering the body truly is the biggest test of mankind because it naturally does not want to serve God, it desires to control your mind and your soul for it is written, “ we are not debtors to the flesh (body), to live after the flesh (body). For if you live after the flesh (body), you shall die.” Romans 8:12-13

And again, “ For they that walk after the flesh (body) do mind the things of the flesh (body); but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally (fleshly or bodily) minded is death: but to be spiritually (Holy Spirit) minded is life and peace. Romans 8:5-6

A person who walks after their flesh (body) is a person whose body is controlling them.

The Body can be very needy it can develop all types of vices, from the time we are born into this world’s system Satan has cause our flesh bodies to be dependant on all sorts of things.

Examples: food, drink, warmth, cool air, sex, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and so much more.

The Bible says they that are in the flesh (body) cannot please God. Romans 8: 8

This is why we have to come to the understanding of God’s word to learn how to live free of the flesh (body) and to walk according to the Holy Spirit of God for it is written, “ except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” St. John 3:5-6

This is why the Apostle Paul said, “ you are not in the flesh (body), but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:9-10

So through the Word of God we can defeat Satan’s control over our bodies for it is written, “ walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (body). For the flesh (body) lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh (body): and these are contrary one to another: so that you cannot do the things that you would. Galatians 5:16-17

The Apostle Paul tells us what he does to control his body in the book of 1st Corinthians chapter 9 verse 27, “ I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

The best ways to control your body are fasting, which is denying the body what it wants, and secondly not putting yourself into situations where you will give into your flesh (body), example if you are avoiding sex don’t put yourself in situations of seclusion. If you are recovering from drugs don’t hang around drug attics. If you are denying your body, because you are over weight don’t go out with friends who only like to eat, in other words flee from temptation until you are able to control your flesh through the Word of God.

We talked about the mind and how Satan attacks the mind to deceive us from learning God’s Word, which is the only way to eternal life.

We talked about the body and how Satan attacks the body through the mind getting the body to become dependant on things God never intended it to become addicted to.

Now let us conclude our study with the study of the Soul, the soul is who we really are, it is the spirit that holds your flesh body up, the body cannot exist without a soul, and it is what Satan is after, for it is written, “ for as the body without the spirit (soul) is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26

The Bible refers to our souls as “the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16

Ours souls were once with God and now they have to earn their way back by passing through this world. God has allowed Satan to solicit after our souls in this world, leaving us with the decision of choosing between the dark spirit of Satan or the Holy Spirit of God.

When a person chooses to live their life opposite of God’s ways then the dark spirit of Satan has connected with their soul for it is written, “ every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 1st John 4:3

The Bible also refers to the dark spirit of Satan as an unclean spirit and when this spirit is inside of a person it causes their body and mind to do all kinds of things like getting drunk, having sex with people, killing, hating, stealing, lying, using, abusing themselves with drugs, and so much more.

Jesus own disciples had allowed the dark spirit to influence them to wish harm upon their fellow brothers in Christ but Jesus saw the evidence of the dark spirit and cast it out of them when He said, “ you know not what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. St. Luke 9:55-56

Many people today are walking around housing the dark spirit of Satan unknowingly, ignorant of the presence of Satan because they do not study God’s word.

This is why we are to be very careful about who our souls (spirits) are connected with for it is written, “ believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” 1st John 4:1

Now when we have chosen the Holy Spirit of God to join with our soul (spirit) it will lead us into all truth, for it is written, “ for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14

We will then begin to avoid the traps and pit falls of Satan’s worldly system, for we learn to pray in the spirit saying, “ lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:13

The most important thing we can ever do is to allow the Holy Spirit of God to connect with our soul for it is written, “ The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit (soul), that we are the children of God.” Romans 8: 16

God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit (soul) and in truth (which is the Word of God). St. John 4:24

Now let us listen to the words of Jesus the Christ that we may save our souls from the death that is to come by way of Satan’s worldly system for it reads, “ I have given them your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.” St. John 17:14-17

Jesus continues to say, “As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth (The Word of God). Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. St. John 17:18-20

Jesus has prayed for all those who will serve Him with their mind, body, and soul.

I pray that you too will accept Jesus as your Lord and Savoir, so that you might be whole, mind, body, and soul.

Until next time I love you,

Glory in the Lord

Glory in the Lord

Glory in the Lord? What does that mean?

Some say that it means that we are to rejoice when God does good things for us, while others believe that they are glorifying Him by showing off all there material wealth.

I had heard people glorying in all sorts of things, in every worldly possession rather than in God, saying how God has blessed them with all these very extravagant things such as, a large religious following and organization, a big house, a fancy foreign automobile, a key role on a television show, an attractive wife or husband, a hand full of diamond rings, a safe full of money, the list goes on and on causing those who have not accepted Jesus Christ to believe that the glory of God is in gaining things of the world.

“ He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.” 1st Corinthians 1:31

Glorying in the Lord is not what most people have interpreted it to be. Let us now get a better understanding to what it does mean by listening to the words of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.

When Jesus faced and went through much trouble for representing his Father (God), by this did he glory in the Lord for it is written, “ These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee.” John 17:1

And again, “ I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do.” John 17:4

Jesus suffered greatly for preaching the gospel and in this he gloried in the Lord.

Jesus Christ said that if any of us would come after him, that we are to deny ourselves and take up our cross each day and follow him. Luke 9:23

The experience of the cross was not a pleasant one and any who will truly glory in the Lord will have to bear one.

Jesus said that the apostle Paul was to witness to the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel and that he must suffer great things for His (Jesus) name’s sake. Acts 9:16

Peter and the Apostles gloried that they were thrown into prison and beaten for doing the work of Jesus Christ for it is written, “ when they called the Apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Acts 5:40-42
Paul and Silas had also gloried in God when they were stripped of their clothing and beaten, then cast into prison for teaching the truth of God’s word, for it is written, “ and at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” Acts 16:23-25

In others words count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4

And again, “ many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19

Yes, people: glorying in the Lord means to rejoice in the bad times and the hardships that come your way for serving God.

The apostle Paul says that it is better to glory in the things that you have suffered through for being a true servant of Jesus Christ than to glory in worldly things that have no salvation in them, for it is written, “ If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern my infirmities. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed forever more, knows that I lie not.” 2nd Corinthians 11:30-31

He begins to list the infirmities or hardships in which he shall glory in the Lord, for it is written, “ of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Three times was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, three times I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeys often, in perils, in the wilderness, in perils of the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and painfulness, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which comes upon me daily, the care of all the churches.” 2nd Corinthians 11:24-28

I know what many of you are thinking, saying to yourselves, “ does he mean I should be happy when things are going bad for me? It’s not normal to be happy when things are going bad? Does he mean that it is not glorying in the Lord when I get a new car, or get married after years of having sex out of wedlock, or it being our pastor’s anniversary? This guy must be crazy?

I am not crazy; only true servants of Jesus Christ can glory in the Lord.

Following Jesus is not an easy thing to do for it is written, “ If the world hate you, know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:18-19

It is an honor to be called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to suffer shame and persecution for preaching the truth of God’s word, to truly glory in the Lord, not teaching the traditions of men or their religious practices.

Many have made the praise of worldly things to be the glory of the Lord, this is not true for it is written, “ Love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2: 15-16

And again, “ What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his own soul or what shall a man exchange for his soul.” Mark 8:37

But Satan has convinced most of the world to believe that they can worship God and worship money at the same time, has persuaded them that glorying in worldly things and giving God the credit, is some how different from glorying in worldly things in general.

If this is true then what is the difference between the servant of God and the servant of Satan seeing how they both glory in the same things?

The Bible says that we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we will carry nothing out. Having food and clothing let us be therewith content.” 1st Timothy 6:8-9

People, we are to glory in the Lord not in worldly things.

People that do not know God glory in wealth and riches for it is written, “ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the Faith (of God) and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1st Timothy 6:10

Material things come and they go therefore it was never told to us to glory in them, for it is written, “ Set your affection on things in heaven and not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2

We know to give thanks to God for our every day provisions but we also know that we are not to glory in any worldly things like money, land, property, food, clothing, or transportation.

We know that money has its place but we also know that any true servant of Jesus will not covet after it, neither glory in it and when we come to this understanding, we can receive the true riches of God. Luke 16:10-13

Glory in the Lord God and His son Jesus Christ, that you are counted worthy to suffer the persecution of this world for sake of His name, that you are counted worthy to be written in the book of life. Revelation 3:4-6

is there redemption for a sinner?

Is there redemption for a sinner?

We have all done things throughout our lives that we are not proud of, we have not always been the upright role models that we are today as servants of Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that God looked down from heaven upon us and had concluded that all were born into an evil world’s system and controlled by Satan the prince of this world therefore God knows that we have all sinned and have fallen short of His glory for it is written, “ There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10 & Romans 3:23

For this reason did God send Jesus into the earth for it is written, “ Jesus came into the world so that sinners might be saved for it is written, “ They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.” Matthew 9:12

We all were sick and suffering the effects of Satan’s deadly virus before the redemption of our souls came through Jesus Christ.

Satan desire is to keep us focused on the wrong that we have done, having us to believe that whatever was done was so terrible, that God would never forgive us for it. Having us to doubt whether God has truly freed us from our sins, hoping that he might have us stumble at fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives.

But to those of you that want to justify yourselves saying, “ I was not controlled by Satan, I have not lived my life according to this world and have done no sin.” The Word of God concludes that you have! For it is written, “ you have he (Jesus) quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in times past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the air (Satan), the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind: and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” Ephesians 2:1-3

Before we can be redeemed to God we have to acknowledge that we were estranged!

There is no human being on this earth that has not been exposed or been involved in sin before coming and sometimes after coming to Jesus Christ. There are no perfect people on this earth. Only one was perfect in the flesh, only Jesus Christ our Lord for it is written, “ For he (God) has made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (Jesus).” 2nd Corinthians 5:21

Now that we know that we were servants of Satan, let us serve him no more!

Through the death of Jesus Christ we were redeemed from sin, freed from this evil world’s ways and the grip of Satan.

Therefore turn from the things you once knew and learn of a better way through Jesus Christ, which is the Word of God.
“Study to show yourselves approved before God, being a person that needs not to be ashamed rightly speaking the Word of Truth.” 2nd Timothy 2:15

Study and learn of your redemption, of who you really are in Christ Jesus that you may live free of sin and receive eternal life.

Do not allow anyone to judge you and farther more stop condemning yourselves for the things that you have done, repent and know that Jesus came not into the world to condemn you for it is written, “ God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believe on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” St. John 3:17-18

The things we have done wrong in our past, does not define who we are, for we have all in past times walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the air (Satan), the spirit that works in the children of disobedience but you are now changed by God’s Word, you are no longer the servant of evil things, you are no longer who you once were.

You are now redeemed from sin through the Word of God, but Satan will look to attack you through other people as well as the subconscious of your own mind, looking to turn you back to your old ways, bringing up the things of your past against you, do not buy into his lies neither defend yourself against those who look to condemn you, only let God speak through you in all that you do.

But those of you who think that you are going to represent God falsely are fooling your own selves for it is written, “ God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” Romans 1:28

And again, “ for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2nd Thessalonians 2:11-12

God is a longsuffering god, He is very patient and understands that we will continue to make mistakes, but If you think that you are going to play a game with God, believing that you will continue repeating the same sins over and over with out consequence, you are mistaken for it is written, “ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

Saul was chosen by God to be the King of His holy people but because of his disobedience he was removed from God’s grace.

Judas was a disciple of Jesus Christ until he decided to obey Satan.

Now having received your redemption of God do not error causing God to turn you over to a reprobate mind because of your games for it is written, “ Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know that Jesus Christ is in you, except you are perceived to be reprobates.” 2nd Corinthians 13:5

Respect your redemption and lose not your soul!

Be not of a reprobate mind and believe not the lies of Satan thinking you can profess to know God and still do the old things you use to do, for Jesus says, “ many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied (witnessed or preached) in your name? And in your name have cast out devils? And in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23

A reprobate or hypocrite will be cast out into outer darkness for it is written, “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:12

Satan wants to keep you from eternal life, he wants to show God that you are not worthy of redemption, he wants God to see you as a reprobate servant as a hypocrite, don’t make him out to be truthful concerning you.

Yes there is redemption for a sinner; yes you can be freed through Jesus Christ.

The apostle Paul was once a murderer many Christians before his redemption came by Jesus Christ.

The apostle Peter was once a very angry man with a fowl mouth before his redemption came by Jesus Christ.

Mary Magdalene was once a harlot a very promiscuous woman before her redemption came by Jesus Christ.

Nicodemus was a false teacher of God’s Word a leader of a religious organization before his redemption came by Jesus Christ.

Who you were or what you have done in your past, does not define who you are.

You have been redeemed, hold fast to your redemption.

Until next time I love you

Are they disciples of God or disciples of Satan?

Are they disciples of God or disciples of Satan?

True servants of God and followers of Jesus Christ do not resemble the appearance of the religious leaders of this world.

True followers of Jesus Christ do not desire praise of men, they do not have any materialist ties to this world of any kind for it is written, “ Then Peter began to say unto Him (Jesus) Lo, we have left all, and have followed you.” Mark 10:28

Jesus goes on to say that there is no man that has made the sacrifice of leaving his house, brothers, sisters, father, mother, wife, children, or lands, for His sake and to preach the gospel that has done this in vain. Mark 10:29-30

No material ties to this world, could you do it, would you do it to gain eternal life?

The Bible says that we are not to be dependant on material things for it is written, “ you therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier.” 2nd Timothy 2: 3-4

We are living in a world where the truth of God’s word holds no real valve, a world where people pretend to know God but by their actions show that they do not for it is written, “ these people draw nigh unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:8-9

We have priest that preach materialism that promote homosexuality that preach that it is a sin to be poor.

When Jesus says in the very book they preach from the opposite of what they preach for it is written, “ and he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be you poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you that hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are you that weep now: for you shall laugh. Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice you in that day, and leap for joy: for behold your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.” Luke 6:20-23

Real men and women of God are not readily received in this world but false prophets and fake preachers are loved by this world for it is written, “ woe unto you that are rich! For you have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! For you shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! For you shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets.” Luke 6:24-26

Jesus told us that if we were going to serve Him that this evil world would hate us for it is written, “ If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18

Jesus also said that this evil world would loves it’s own for it is written, “ If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:19

Jesus spoke a parable about a certain type of person that would receive the Word of God, follow the Word of God up until a certain point, and would represent the Word of God falsely for fame and money for it is written, “ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.” Luke 8:14

The true valve of us all lye not in the things which we possess but in whether or not we know the Word of God for it is written, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consist not in the abundance of things which he possesses.” Luke 12:15

Yet Solomon lets us know how the people of this evil world view those that truly serve God. Solomon tells us of a story which he observed during his time as King of Jerusalem, For there was once a great king that attacked a small city and had taken over it, there was a poor man who was very wise in the word of God living in the city at the time of the take over, by the wisdom of this poor man’ was the city delivered out of the hands of the king, but no one remember the man who saved their city because he was poor. Ecclesiastes 9:14-15

In this evil world God’s true messengers are not received very well due to the ignorance of the people having respect of persons or respect to those who are rich.

God says that we are not to have respect of persons or to esteem any man above any other man for it is written, “ you are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” Luke 16: 15

God is not fooled by ministers with a great number of followers, He is not impressed by the amount of money in which they are able to extort from the people through false doctrine, He is not moved by their ability to build and purchase land, for it is written, “ For there is no respect of persons with God.” Romans 2:11

And again, “ God is no respecter of persons.” Acts 10:34

But Satan has programmed the minds of the people in this world to respect what a person has more than who that person represents.

The Bible teaches us how foolish it is for a person to think as this evil world does for it is written, “ are you not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Hearken, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love him? But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by which you are called?” James 2: 4-7

Any man preaching worldly prosperity blasphemes God Almighty for it is written, “ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon (money).” Matthew 6:24

Although Satan has deceived the entire world to believe that every man who uses the name of Jesus Christ is a servant of God, it is not so, for it is written, “ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15

Jesus said that you would know His true ministers by their words and their actions for it is written, “ a good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45

Out of the abundance of the heart a man speaks, so if the preacher is preaching about being on television, making money, buildings houses, building larger churches, and buying lands, you can conclude that his heart is focused on these things for it is written, “ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

The Bible says that the minds of these men have been corrupted by the Devil and the wickedness of this world and we are to separate ourselves from these false teachers for it is written, “ Men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness from such withdraw thyself. 1st Timothy 6:5

The Bible says be not partaker of another man’s iniquities: it is not good enough for us to say to ourselves that the preacher will have to answer for what he is doing wrong. This is true, he will have to answer for what he has done but so will you for it is written, “ come out from among them my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you will not receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4

People of the world, please do not lose your souls thinking that you can play church!

Nothing in this world is worth losing your soul over, for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul or what shall a man exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36

Study to show yourself approved before God rightly dividing the Word of Truth, learn the truth about what a servant of God looks and acts like and be content for it is written, “ But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” 1st Timothy 6:6-8

There is no shame if the world does not acknowledge you as a man or woman of God for it is written, “ Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watching, in fasting, by pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” 2nd Corinthians 6:3-10

No material ties to this world, could you do it, will you do it to gain eternal life?

For the Bible says, “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1st Timothy 6:9-10

No material ties to this world for it is written, “ But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1st Timothy 6:11-12

Until next time, I love you
