Light & Dakness, Good & Evil

Light & Darkness, Good & Evil

Light and darkness have nothing in common, good and evil are not friends, and they cannot dwell together, for one cancels out the other.

Many have made the mistake of believing that they can keep company with darkness or evil and would not be affected, they later found out that they were wrong for it is written, “ be not deceived, evil communication corrupts good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33

While sitting at work around your co-workers, the topic of discussion tends to be of a carnal nature (dark or evil point of view), if you then begin to address the topic from a Godly prospective (light or goodness), the topic will no longer be able to continue in harmony because light and darkness do not mix very well. Good and evil reject one another.

Many cultures believe that it is important that good and evil exist; they believe that we should have a ying and a yang; they believe that this is important in maintaining the balance of life, they are wrong!

The Bible teaches us that the darkness will be no more and the evil of this world will be eliminated for it is written, “ And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light and they shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:5

And again, “ Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first and also the Gentile.” Romans 2:9

The apostle Paul asked the question; can light and darkness dwell together? For it is written, “ Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2nd Corinthians 6:14

If there were a dark place deep in the woods, known to be one of the darkest places on earth, this darkness would not remain as soon as the brightness of the sun was upon it. But if that same dark place in the forest was covered by the darkness of night and a match was lit, that light would still find it’s way out of the darkness, the light from that one little match would illuminate In the midst of all that darkness.

This is the power of God; this is the power of light and of good.

In first chapter of the book of John, the Bible speaks about the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Starting at verse 4th it speaks of the light for it is written, “ In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shined in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:4-5

Jesus was sent into a world full of darkness ran by Satan, that we may have light to see our way out of that darkness for it is written, “ He was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world. He was in the world and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.” John 1:9-10

The people of this dark and evil world could not then and cannot now see the light nor the goodness of Jesus Christ because light and darkness don’t mix, good and evil are not friends.

Some people’s eyes are so focused on the things in this evil world, are so full of Satan’s darkness that they cannot see Jesus for it is written, “ the light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye were evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you were darkness, how great is that darkness? For no man can serve two masters.” Matthew 6:22-24

Are your eyes on Jesus Christ; are your eyes on the coming of his return?

You cannot be just a little good and a little evil, just as it cannot be light and dark at the same time.

You may want to hang on to the old ways of Satan, you might want to still indulge in things of darkness; clubbing, drinking, smoking, fornicating, lying, stealing, gambling, but you will not be able to serve Jesus and the devil! For it is written, “ what concord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he that believe with an infidel? 2nd Corinthians 6:15

Gentlemen, you cannot choose a wife from the unbelieving, ladies, you cannot accept marriage from a man who walks in darkness and expect the outcome to be a good one.

People who have made the decision not to believe in the contents of the Holy Bible and people who have believed that The Word of God is true, will never have a long lasting relationship for it is written, “ How can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos 3:3

And again, “ A kingdom divided against it’s self cannot stand.” Mark 3:24

The Kingdom of God has no place with the likeness of this world for this world in evil and all that wishes to indulge in the ways of this world are evil for it is written, “ wherefore come out from among them, and be you separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2nd Corinthians 6:17

We are to be lights in a world of darkness, we are to be a sign of goodness in a world of evil for it is written, “ No man, when he hath lighted a candle covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed: but sets it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.” Luke 8:16

And again, “ be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Roman 12:21

“ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

And last but not least “ Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calls you, who will also do it.” 1st Thessalonians 5:22-24

In spite of what you see

In spite of what you see

As a believer of Jesus Christ and a servant of God we have to know, in spite of what we see that our current situation will not remain that way.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

If we begin to focus on where we are and not on where we are going then we have lost all faith in God.

If we within our minds begin to increase all the possible ways that our situation can become worst, then we have failed to know the God of the Holy Bible in which we read from, for it is written, “ For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37

And again, “ Now unto him (God) that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20

But it is impossible to get through any trouble without faith for it is written, “ But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Many of us have come into trusting in our eyes, to believe if we see it then it must be true, this is a mistake.

Stop trusting in the ways of the world, stop buying into the deception of the Devil, for these are the ways of those who have not come to know our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ.

If you have been locked up in jail, you may see the bars of the cell, you may feel the hardness of the bed, and you may see your accuser face to face and hear them say that you are guilty.

Don’t lose hope, continue to believe that God has not left you alone in that cell, in spite of what you see, have faith and rejoice knowing that you are coming out in Jesus name for it is written, “ we walk by faith and not by sight.”

Just as Peter believed that he was coming out of the prison he was in and the angel of the Lord came and freed him from the jail.

If you have become ill and all your family and friends begin to tell you how sorry they feel for you, how bad you are looking, and the doctors say that you are not going to make it through.

Rejoice and lift your voice to God in spite of what they all say, knowing that God says He will never leave us nor forsake us for it is written, “ My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4

Just as the woman with the issue of blood believed and Jesus heeled her of her illness of 12 years.

If you have had a life full of disappointment and lack of sincere love, time after time you are left feeling hurt and drained from each relationship, don’t begin to settle into a mind set of a loveless life, don’t begin to believe that your future is going to be the same as your past, in spite of what you have seen in your life you must continue to walk in faith believing that God knows what he is doing and has something wonderful prepared for your future.

You may not see it, but faith is not seeing and yet believing for it is written, “ for we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” Romans 8:24-25

And again, “ stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today.” Exodus 14:13

Just as Ruth after losing her opportunity for marriage and true love, continued to believe God and the Lord sent her Boaz.

If the children of Israel had focused on Pharaoh’s army behind them or the red sea in front of them they would not have passed over to the other side.

If Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego had focused on the flames of the burning fiery furnace they would not have come out without harm and without the smell of smoke.

If Esther had focused on King Ahasuerus’s guards taking her life for entering into the court and saved her people from sure destruction.

We were all programmed into a worldly system, that teaches us not to walk in faith.

Now we have to learn how to be deprogrammed from this way of thinking by the Word of God for it is written, “ be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

If you see an army of your enemies approaching you from every side, fear not in spite of what you may see for it is written, “ a thousand will fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come nigh you.” Psalm 91:7

If you see the bills beginning to pile up and your way of earning money has been taken away, don’t hang your head and lean not unto your own understanding in spite of what you see for it is written, “ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?” Matthew 6:26

God has promised us that if we would believe in Him and do not doubt in our minds that no weapon formed against us would prosper.” Isaiah 54:17

The Bible teaches us in spite of what the world says would be the way of fixing our problems, have faith in God that He can supersede the world’s system for it is written, “ We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

So in site of what you see, trust the Word of God, read it, learn it; meditate on it, and you will have great success over the obstacles in your life, for it is written, “ Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17

You are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ, so fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. 1st Timothy 6:12

The Mind of Christ Jesus

The Mind of Christ Jesus

“ Let this mind be in me that is in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2: 5

Jesus was the first to overcome this evil world while walking in a flesh body.

He paved the way for us all, he laid out the blue print for success, for it is written, “ take up your cross and follow me.” Mark 8:34

In other words follow in my footsteps.

First of all Jesus did not have his own agenda, but he did the will of God for it is written, “ never the less not my will but thy will be done.” Matthew 26:39

And again, “ I do not these things of my own will but by the will of the Father.” John 6:38-40

We must adapt our minds to understand that we are here on this earth to do God’s will and not our own for it is written, “ I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

Secondly we are not to speak our own opinions to people but the word of God for it is written, “ the Words that I speak are not my own but I speak the words of Him who sent me.” John 14:10

We may think that our opinions may help some one but the words of God are far better than our own words.

Third we are to show love unto all mankind in spite of how they feel about us for it is written, “ Jesus set and ate with the publicans and sinners.” Matthew 9:10

And again, “ Jesus set down to eat with the Pharisees (religious leaders) knowing that they were his enemies, not being naive and believing that they truly loved him back saying to them in advance that he knew that they were going to talk about him behind his back later. Matthew 11:19

Jesus mind set was to love people he said it is the second highest commandment to love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39

We are to love people, not with a worldly love but with the love of God for it is written, “ Who ever says that he is of God and hates his brother remains in the darkness of the world. But he that loves his brother abides in the light of God and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.” 1St John 2:9-10

Which brings us to number four, we are not to easily be provoked or offend by what people say or do to us for it is written, “ this man is a blasphemer only God can forgive sins.” And again, “ and they looked to stone him.” Mark 2:7 and John 10:31

Jesus did not take these peoples comments personally He did not feel bad because of the statements nor actions toward him and neither should we be.

We are to expect to be disliked and not to be saddened or angered by it for Jesus told us, “ If the world hate you, know that they hated me before they hated you.” John 15:18

Number five we are not to be materialist for it is written; “ Jesus rode in to Jerusalem meek and humble upon an ass (little donkey).” And again, “ you can not serve two masters God and Mammon (wealth). Matthew 21:5 and Matthew 6:24

In order to have the mind of Christ we are to separate ourselves from all worldly lust so that we may stay focused on the true riches, which is eternal life for it is written, “ love not the world neither the things that are in the world, if any man love the world then the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world.” 1st John 2:15-17

Number six we are not to be easily angered for it is written, “ be slow to anger.” Proverbs 16:32

The Bible says if we live by the sword we shall die by the sword.” And again, “ what you sow is what you shall also reap.” Galatians 6:7

And last but not least, “ the battle is not yours but the Lord’s.” 1st Samuel 17:47

We are not to loose ourselves in a moment of anger, we are to understand that whom ever the insult is coming from is operating under the deception of Satan, so we are to forgive them for they know not what they do.

Number seven we are to be ready to show forgiveness one to another for one of Jesus disciples asked him, “ how often shall a person sin against me, and I forgive them? Should the max be seven times? Jesus replied, “ not seven times, but seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21-22

The Bible says how can you ask God’s forgiveness if you, yourself cannot forgive people? For it is written, “ first let us go and get things right with our neighbor then we can come to the alter of God for our own forgiveness.” Matthew 5:22-24

We are to forgive people in order to have the mindset of Christ Jesus. Now forgiving someone does not mean you have to continue to be around them, it just means you have sincerely forgiven their trespass against you.

Number eight we are not to be a procrastinator, Jesus was very focused and active with carrying out what he was here for, for it is written, “ I must be about my Father’s business.” Luke 2:49 and again, “ My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” John 4:34

But make sure that your steps are being ordered by God, because there are many active people out there today doing things in the name of Jesus Christ that have not been sent for it is written, “ And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23

We are not to be lazy concerning God, when God is leading us; we are to get it done!

Number nine we are to have a giving and sharing spirit, Jesus shared the gospel and gave to all that was in need for it is written, “ have the company to sit down for meat, as he fed five thousand men. Mark 6:44

And again, “ he gave his disciples power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” And Jesus told them to share and give freely not looking to receive anything back again for it is written, “ freely you have received from God, so freely give it away.” Matthew 10:1,8

It is true, “ God loves a cheerful giver.” 2nd Corinthians 9:7

It is also true that the gospel is to be preached or given to the poor without charge. Matthew 11: 5

But we are to uses our discernment concerning giving and are to give as we are directed of God, because truly we cannot and are not to give to those who are users and conmen.

This Includes giving to religious organization, there are many Churches out there begging and coning people out of their money, be careful!

There is no doubt that we are to have a giving spirit to obtain the mindset of Jesus Christ.

And finally, number ten we are to be patience, never anxious for anything. Waiting upon God to direct and handle all things for it is written, “ they that shall wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

And again, “ God is the God of patience. “ and all that serve Him must be patient. Romans 15:5

Jesus patiently went through the steps of his crucifying so that he could save our souls.
Jesus patiently taught and walked with his disciples until they understood what he wanted them to do after he was gone.

Jesus patiently made his way to the grave of Lazarus, not looking to stop the death from occurring but patiently arrived after so that we would know that God is able to handle any problem.

Patience is not only a virtue, but it is mandatory in having the mind of Christ Jesus.

We are not to be impatient, but we are to wait upon the Lord; patience with our finances, patience with our relationships, patience with our spiritual walk, patience in all things.

These are 10 ways to adapt the mind of Jesus.

Study them, learn them, and apply them to your life that you may not faint in the day of trouble for it is written, “ those of us that says that we abide in Christ Jesus, ought also to walk as He did walk.” 1st John 2:6
